Based on the
legal specialization of the Group that noticed the
importance of the satellite work and its major role on
individuals and society, in view of the recent increase of
criticism to the performance of satellite channels and the
vacancy of legislation regulating its work, as to keep up
with recent tendency in the economy and management is to
encourage and promote private sector and NGOs' role in all
fields in consistence with the role of the state and public
institution, as well as the consequences of issuing the
Document "on principles regulating radio and television
satellite broadcasting and reception in the Arab World" by
Arab
Information Ministers Council.
At the time the
Arab Information Ministers Council was concerned to draw up
an agreement concerning the regulation of Arab Satellite
Channels work and Media Honor Charter, in order to ratify
and issue as domestic national legislation in all Arab
states, the Egyptian Ministry of information has prepared
bill of the National Body for regulating audiovisual
broadcasting, the same in several Arab countries. The matter
motivates the Scientific Group for Legal Studies to adopt
holding
Arab
Satellite Festival
"Satellites….Rights & Duties"
That includes
conference (public sessions- Workshops- open symposia)
Under the
motto "Our
word to be part of the legislation"
As to gather all
concerned parties in Arab satellites' field…..to discuss the
status que, the aspirated goal, and to reach framework
regulates the satellites' work and performance, achieve the
equilibrium between ensuring the right in thought, creation
and channels freedom of expression, social liability, and
releasing supreme media message.
